Bedtime at the Shores' house is usually one of the most frustrating times for us. Its no wonder. I remember arguing with my parents about it still being light outside and how I should get to stay up as late as they did when I was 3 years old.
Lily, as you have already seen, can usually think up a million excuses to get out of bed, some so good that she probably gets out of more spankings than she should. Elliot, on the other hand, stays in bed for the most part.
Not tonight. A few minutes ago Lily got out of bed for the umpteenth time just as Nick was passing by their room on his way out of the house. This time, Elliot had decided to wander out with Lily to see if it was really as great as she said. As they were both standing in the hall, Nick walks out of our room. Lily quickly runs back into the bedroom slamming the door behind her..
Poor Elliot got the short end of the stick. Not realizing that Lily had shut the door, he slammed right into it. Too funny for a spanking and more discipline than Nick could give. Disobeying sure has consequences, doesn't it?

Wow! What goes around comes around. I can remember how Stephanie was able, on more occasion than one, to talk her sister, Kristen, into trying to do the same thing as Lily and Elliot. It is so nice to see that it was not just my parenting eyes and ears that got to take part in a drama scene like this. Yes,Stephanie knew when to run back to her room quicker than Kristen did most of the time. I can't wait to see what it is like when Samuel weighs in.
