Attack!

So, this morning began with our kids coming to wake us up in our bedroom... we groggily walked downstairs together to get them some breakfast. Nick was ahead of all of us and walked into the kitchen. All of the sudden, I heard a yell, and automatically thought snake. Good news: not a snake. Bad news: a rat! Huge!! Must have been cat-sized*, and then he disappeared, not to be found.

Nick sealed the exits for his counter-attack on the mouseketeer, and I stayed in the livingroom with the kids.

I grabbed my phone to return a phone call, and as my friend answered, I hear another yell of frightening excitement coming from the kitchen. Good news: not a rat. Bad news: Two rats! On their hind legs, attacking! Clash! Bang! Smash! Nick is hacking at them with the dustpan. Managed to wound one (we don't know where it went--hoping it doesn't make a second appearance), and killed the other... The dustpan, sadly, didn't make it.

Let's just say there was blood in the diningroom...

My husband: Master of the House and Protector of the Domain. He'll teach them not to mess with the Shores!

*ok, so maybe I am exaggerating a wee bit

Nick, your dad once saw a mouse in our kitchen, he was screaming like a girl, standing on a chair... Good to see you didn't take after him in the "pest control department"
