As Elliot's little personality comes out more and more, we're starting to notice a real gift with words appearing. He loves to play with words and is really cute (and sometimes a little random). I wanted to give you a few samplings:
A few weeks ago, Elliot discovered in the cupboard some sour patch Kids that Nick's mom had sent to us. He brings them out to me and says, "Mom, I really want to eat some of those fellas."
Sometimes Nick and I get into heated discussions...sometimes they are fights, but the other day, Nick and I were just discussing something with zeal and talking really loudly. Elliot says, "Daddy, you need to obey mama."
And tonight, we were at the dinner table...here's the interaction...
Stephanie: Do you have a story to tell us?
Elliot: Today, I was caught by a shark. It was black. It was a boy.
S: How did you know it was a boy?
E: His name was Mister Shark.
S: Did you know your name is Mister Shores?
E: My name is Elliot, too.
S: Not Elliot one?
E: I'm still three!
As I write this, I am thinking you probably might have just had to be there, but Kalie and I just cracked up.
For a while, he's been a bit obsessed with the word "Squirt!" and just will yell it when you're least expecting it. So, we decided to call him Squirt. It stuck for about two days, but in the middle of that fad, we were all singing a song about trains and how they go "Toot toot!" Lily decided she wanted to be called Toot. So, for a couple of days there, we had kids called Toot and Squirt. But, just so you know, they don't like that anymore, so I wouldn't advise you calling them that next time you talk to them.
