lily is learning to read!

So, lately, we've been buckling down on learning to read. We are trying to do one lesson a day from her book, so that when a friend brings us some books in May she can start to read them. I am so excited! Its so fun to see her sound something out, and then see it click on her face, when she realizes she knows that word already!

Anyway, a few weeks ago, a friend bought her a miniature-sized dry-erase board and marker, and so sometimes I let her use it during her "rest-time" (aka nap time for the boys, quiet time for lily, and get stuff done time for mommy) so that the boys don't mess with it.

Today during rest time, she comes into our room, and says, "Look mommy! Lily, Elliot, Sam and Jed!" She hands me the board, and I see



I was shocked! All of their names, all spelled right! After composing myself and applauding her, I showed her how to flip the "J" and asked her if she knew how to spell mom and dad.

A few minutes later, she came back with



Wow. Our little girl is growing up!

love it! i'm really proud of her! now, if she can spell jeshurun without any help, i will officially dub her a genius. :)
